Reinhard Furrer

BIO

Reinhard Furrer received an undergraduate degree (diploma) in mathematics of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1998 and completed his Ph.D. in Statistics at the same institute in 2002. In 2002 Reinhard moved to Boulder, Colorado, starting a position as a postdoctoral fellow in the Geophysical Statistics Project at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. After almost three years at NCAR, Reinhard accepted a position as an assistant professor in the Mathematics and Computer Science department at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. 

EXPERTISE

spatio-temporal statistics, state-space models, nonstationarity, large datasets, computational statistics, (ensemble) Kalman filter, extremes, multivariate and robust statistics.
