Lalita Noronha-Blob

Lalita Noronha is a research scientist, writer and teacher from India. She came to the U.S. on a Fulbright travel grant. She has a Ph.D. in Microbiology (St. Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri,) an M.S. in Genetics (University of Bombay, India,) and a B.S. in Botany (University of Baroda, India,) and is a widely published scientist (approx. 100 papers and abstracts) She worked at the National Institutes of Health and in the biopharmaceutical industry for several years prior to turning to teaching.
She is also a fiction writer, poet, and an editor of The Baltimore Review. She has twice won the Maryland Literary Arts Award for Short Story twice-(1997 and 2001) and is the recipient of a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist award (2002.)
