Mary Knuck




Mary Knuck is currently working as a Mathematics Education Consultant. She held the position of Deputy Associate Superintendent for Mathematics Standards Implementation for the Arizona Department of Education for 9 1/2 years. Prior to working for the DOE, she was an Educational Consultant for amajor publisher for 4 years. She taught at the elementary level in the Paradise Valley School District in Scottsdale, AZ. Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Purdue University and her Masters of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. She earned her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Mathematics Education at Arizona State University in 2010. Mary's accomplishments in teaching include: Arizona Science Teacher of the Year (1998), the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching (1998), and National Board Certified Teacher (1999; 2009). She also participated in the Algebraic Thinking Math Project (1998-1999) for PBS MATHLINE as a video demonstration teacher.
