I am a 30+ year veteran teacher originally from Pennsylvania where I received my BS from East Stroudsburg University in elementary education. I posess an area of concentration in art. I presently teach fourth grade at Sand Hill Elementary in Effingham County, GA. I have spent most of my teaching career in Chatham County (Savannah), Georgia. Additionally, I have also taught in the "hollars" of Wayne County, West Virginia and Aldan, Pennsylvania. While in the Savannah/Chatham County School District I was the Teacher of the year at Haven Elementary, twice at Port Wentworth Elementary and the Teacher of the Year for the Savannah/Chatham County School District.I was Teacher of the year at Sand Hill elementary in Effingham County.

I have served as Public Relations Chairperson and President-Elect and a state convention representative for the Savannah branch of the Georgia Association of Educators for many years. I am presently building representative for the ProfessionalAssociation of Georgia Educators. I have served on various SACS committees on both the school and county level. I was the chairperson of the SACS committee at Sand Hill Elementary. I have been a member of the National Science Teachers' Association, the Georgia Science Teachers' Association, the Georgia Council of Math Teachers, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. At the school level I am the school PRISM representative, a member of the school leadership team, a memeber of the technology team, and a member of the school council.I have served as part of a group to develop the Savannah/Chatham County Wellness Curriculum and Port Wentworth Elementary's Blast Off curriculum. I have authored several grants from the Aerospace Foundation and the Savannah Foundation.

I am presently working to obtain my masters in Curriculum and Instruction through the University of Phoenix.
