### BIO

Bernadette Mullins is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Birmingham-Southern College. Her professional interests include commutative ring theory and mathematics education. She has been a part of a number of professional development projects for middle school mathematics students and teachers including Project Discovery, the Institute for Conceptually Based Mathematics, and summer institutes for middle school teachers funded by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education. In commutative ring theory, her interests lie in the area of factorization and extensions of commutative rings.### EXPERTISE
