BIO

Helen M. G. Watt is Professor of Educational Psychology at The University of Sydney. She has previously served on the Faculties of Monash University, Michigan, Western Sydney, Sydney, and Macquarie. She received her BEd Honours in Educational Psychology from the University of Sydney in 1993, graduating with the University Medal. Her PhD also from the University of Sydney received the American Educational Research Association Division E 'Human Development' dissertation award in 2004 and the Division C 'Learning and Instruction' graduate student award in 2001. Her research interests include measurement, scale construction, motivation, self-concept, academic achievement, maths education, gendered occupational choices, socialisation of gender differences, motivations for teaching and teacher self-efficacy.
