BIO

I began my career as an Algebra teacher in Los Angeles. After working part-time at CRESST at UCLA, I decided that I loved research and wanted to pursue a Ph.D. I studied learning theory and formative assessment in mathematics classrooms at Queen's University, Belfast. My doctoral work was comparative, situated in two schools in Los Angeles and two schools in Belfast. I worked at Radford University for several years as the Director of Assessment for the College of Education, where I did some research with our teacher preparation programs. I am now a postdoctoral research associate on the CHEM+C project with Deborah Tatar at Virginia Tech.
