Susan Yonezawa

BIO

Yonezawa received her Ph.D. In education policy from UCLA in 1998 and worked briefly at John's Hopkins University before settling down at UC San Diego's Center for Research in Educational Equity Assessment and Teaching Excellence (CREATE). She has published over 24 peer reviewed articles/invited book chapters, made over 45 state and national research presentations. She is the current PI or Co-PI of $7 million in grant funding from the NSF, Office of Naval Research, California Department of Education, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. All her work focuses on the improvement of education for underserved students. 

EXPERTISE

Education change and reform, education policies such as tracking/detracking, student voice, curricular reforms such as Common Core and NGSS., school-university partnerships, personalization and education of k-12 students.
