Steven Moore

  • Higher Ed: Science, Higher Ed: Education, Higher Ed: Administrator, Researcher

As Director of the Center for Spatial Studies at the University of Redlands, Dr. Moore strives to make spatial thinking, analysis, and decision accessible to as many learners as possible. By pursuing this goal, he hopes to improve science literacy, better equip K-college students to succeed in STEM courses and careers, and, empower citizens to make better choices for themselves and their planet. Dr. Moore expresses this vision in directing the research and instructional support activities of the Center for Spatial Studies, which serves faculty and students across campus. He has also served as Principal Investigator on 19 federally and privately funded science education projects that focused on using digital image analysis, geographic information systems, and other computer-based visualization technologies for student learning in grades 5-12 and college. A recently awarded NSF grant will evaluate curricular materials designed to improve the spatial thinking, computational, and mathematical skills of K-5 students.
