Susan Kowalski

BIO

Dr. Susan Kowalski joined BSCS as a Science Educator in May 2007. She is the PI or Co-PI on three NSF-funded meta-analyses. One goal of these projects is to establish power analysis parameters for science education research proposals. A second goal is to examine the federally funded portfolio of research studies to determine whether studies attend to the research needs identified in the NRC (2011) report, Successful K-12 STEM Education: Identifying Effective Approaches in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Kowalski received a B.A. in Physics from Colorado College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, science education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. 

EXPERTISE

Dr. Kowalski's areas of expertise include quantitative meta-analysis, causal effects research studies of science education interventions, and the development and study of online professional learning experiences for high school science teachers.
