Maureen Burns

BIO

With a doctorate in Educational Administration from the joint Leadership program at the University of California Irvine and Los Angeles, Burns has worked with university academic preparation programs partnering with K-12 schools sponsored by ArtsBridge, ArtsCore, the Archaeological Institute of America, the California History and Social Sciences Project, and Humanities Out There. Mostly focusing her activities on professional development and assessment, Burns provides managerial and research support for UC Irvine's Center for Learning in the Arts, Sciences & Sustainability (http://www.class.uci.edu/). Burns is an information professional with over twenty-five years of experience developing and managing teaching resources of images at UCI, the Getty Villa, and CSULB, culminating in the UC Shared Images project (http://www.cdlib.org/services/access_publishing/dsc/ucsi/). She continues image management work on a consulting basis and has recently completed tenure as the President of the Visual Resources Association (http://www.vraweb.org/).
