Roberta Trachtman

I am the Director of Teacher Certification at New Visions for Public Schools, New York City's largest education reform organization. I work with colleagues to create, implement, and sustain cross organizational collaborations to support educators' development as learners and leaders. During the past 3 years I have led the design and implementation of a New York City teacher residency program, a clinically-based teacher preparation program in partnership with Hunter College. My most significant research activity was the multi-year work as principal investigator in the Professional Development School Standards Project for the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education. Prior to joining New Visions I was an associate professor of educational administration at Fordham University, a teacher educator at the New School for Social Research in NYC, and the CEO of an educational consulting firm.
