BIO

Dr. Umadevi Garimella is the director of the UCA Institute for STEM Professional Development and Education Research (UCA STEM Institute) at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). Prior to that, she was a faculty member in the Department of Biology at UCA and at the Volunteer State Community College. She has Ph.D. and M.S degrees in biology and MS degree in chemistry. She has more than 21 scientific research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has been actively involved in designing and conducting professional development institutes and workshops for K-12 mathematics and science teachers.
