Chuck Groetsch's primary educational interest is the integration of mathematics, history and physical science in the classroom. His research centers on the theory of approximation methods for ill-posed inverse problems and he serves on the editorial boards of a half-dozen journals. He is the author of nine books, some of which have been translated into Japanese and Chinese, and numerous research papers. Groetsch is a former head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and quondam dean of the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Cincinnati, a past recipient of the MAA's George Polya Award, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Currently he holds the Traubert Endowed Chair in Science and Mathematics at The Citadel.
