David Shannon

BIO

David Shannon has a Ph.D. Research Methodology and Statistics from the University of Virginia in 1990 and is currently a Professor in at Auburn University. He coordinated the doctoral program in Educational Psychology from 2000 to 2007 and teaches classes in research methods and statistics. His research has focused on teaching and student assessment, evaluation and methodological issues. Dr. Shannon has over 45 refereed publications over the past 15 years in journals such as: Journal of Educational Research, Journal of Experimental Education, Educational and Psychological Measurement, Journal of Personnel Evaluation in Education, Practical Assessment, Research, and Evaluation, and Journal of Higher Education. In addition, he has published two books pertaining to assessment and statistical analysis. Furthermore, he has served as the principal investigator for approximately $1 million and the evaluation coordinator for over $120 million in funded projects. He serves the editorial boards of several journals and is the Regional Editor for Educational Research and Evaluation. He currently serves as the President for the Eastern Educational Research Association.
