Marilyn Strutchens

Marilyn E. Strutchens is a professor and program coordinator of Mathematics Education in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching in the College of Education. She joined Auburn University in August 2000.

Before coming to Auburn, she served as an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky from 1993 to 1995 and an assistant professor at the University of Maryland from 1995 to 2000. Her doctorate is in Mathematics Education from the University of Georgia.

Dr. Strutchens enjoys conducting research on topics regarding the increase of mathematical understanding of African American Students and the increase of parental involvement in children's mathematics education. In addition to supervising interns in secondary mathematics education, she currently teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics education and a general middle school methods course.
