Laura Pedrick




Laura Pedrick, Special Assistant to the Provost, oversees UWM's online and blended programs. She is co-Principal Investigator for the University's Sloan Foundation-funded Blending Life and Learning initiative, which is converting nine undergraduate majors and graduate degrees into a blended format targeting adult learners and working professionals. She serves as co-chair of the University's Online Program Council and she led the myUWM portal project team in its initial phase of development. She is currently participating in the UW System's eLearning Working Group, which is setting a statewide vision for e-learning for the next five years. In the area of instructional technology, Ms. Pedrick is a co-author of the Social Work Skills Demonstrated CD-ROM and is currently working on a virtual case studies project as part of a policy practice textbook for Allyn & Bacon. Her background is in mass communication, and she holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota.
