Event: Instructional Coaching Conference Sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Learning Communities

Sep 21, 2005
Sep 23, 2005

Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel
Boston, Massachusetts

The Center for Leadership and Learning Communities at Education Development Center, Inc., invites you to attend an insightful and thought-provoking Instructional Coaching Conference.

Through interactive presentations and engaging discussions, this three-day conference will explore the design and implementation of coaching models in K-12 mathematics, science, and literacy. It will also build on the work of CLLC with district-based coaching programs and will focus on decisions about how best to recruit, train, deploy, support, and evaluate coaches' work to promote instructional improvement on a broad scale.

Over the past decade, CLLC has designed, implemented, and evaluated coaching models on a wide scale, primarily in mathematics. Yet, while content-specific approaches to coaching are common and have their advantages, this conference is designed to highlight important lessons to be learned or found across subject lines.

Conference Sessions
Sessions will acquaint participants with the distinctive features of different coaching models, and address the following common challenges across models: the role of subject matter in designing and implementing coaching strategies the reliance of coaching strategies and coaches' work on identifiable (and defensible) theories of teacher change coaching quality and measures of effectiveness of coaches' work alignment of the coaching program with a wider agenda for change in mathematics, science, or literacy.

Sessions will include a keynote address, concurrent presentations on coaching models, and panel discussions-all designed to maximize participant interaction around important ideas.
