Event: NSDL Science Maps Workshop

Dec 7, 2011
12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Seattle, WA

With funding from the National Science Foundation, AAAS Project 2061 is offering this free half-day workshop designed to help educators make better use of the Science Literacy Maps, an online concept browsing interface provided by the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). The workshop will be held from 12 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at the Courtyard Seattle Downtown/Pioneer Square. All participants will receive free lunch and copies of Atlas of Science Literacy.

Not only do the Maps provide easy access to a wide array of education resources for teaching K-12 science, they also offer insights that can help you see how your students are likely to make progress--or have problems--in their learning from grade to grade, how to help them understand relationships among important ideas, and how to keep the "big picture" of science learning in mind as you select and use the NSDL resources.

If you are interested in attending, you may sign up at Although we would like to accommodate everyone who has an interest in attending, space in the workshop is limited. Participants who are selected to attend will be notified by Nov.21, 2011.
