Feb 28, 2006
Mar 3, 2006

San Diego, CA

We welcome leaders of mathematics professional development,pre-service educators, and higher education-K-12 teams working with teacher groups in algebra and algebraic thinking.

The developers of Learning and Teaching Linear Functions (LTLF) will conduct a Facilitation Institute designed to help participants learn:
  • How to lead productive LTLF sessions

  • How to develop a teacher learning community

  • How to think about the LTLF materials strategically, in relation to other professional development approaches and programs.

  • How to adapt these materials to
    preservice environments.
This is a great leadership development opportunity! A nominal tuition fee of $500* covers materials, hotel and most meals during the institute. The institute will be conducted at the Sheraton Suites San Diego. The number
of participants is strictly limited with priority given to teams and those with concrete plans for using the materials. The deadline for registration is December 16, 2005. Applicants will be notified of acceptance by January 4, 2004.

For more information, or to obtain an application, please contact Jean Marletti, (805-388-4420) or visit our web site (link below.)

* Actual cost is $3,000. A grant from the National Science Foundation (ESI-0243558) is providing funding to support the institute.
