Conference on Social Network Analysis and Its Application to Educational Research and Evaluation

On May 5th and 6th, Westat will be hosting an interactive and informative conference in Rockville, Maryland, on the application of social network analysis (SNA) to educational research and evaluation. The purpose of the conference is to get an overview of ways in which the methodology has been applied, learn and discuss some specific studies that have used SNA to address educational research and evaluation questions, and dialogue about potential applications of SNA to knowledge building regarding NSF's MSP program.
The conference has two goals:
  • Broadening understanding of the potential of SNA
  • Developing ideas for a shared research agenda

We are interested in engaging both new and veteran members of the MSP community in this discussion. We will also have a few researchers join us who are not involved in the MSP at this time, but have used SNA in studies that are directly related to our work. We hope to have a highly interactive meeting where we can share ideas and plan for some exciting new work.

If you are interested in attending this conference, please fill out the registration form (click to download). If you have questions or want to talk about this further, feel free to contact Joy Frechtling at or (301) 517-4006.
