The Sky's the Limit: Classroom-Based Assessments Raise the Bar for Science Instruction

Abstract

This article features exemplary work that has been done by Scott Stowell and the Reforming Secondary Science Through Teacher Enhancement LSC project in the Spokane School District. This project has provided professional development to help teachers effectively use classroom assessments to guide their teaching. This article provides interesting examples of the teaching and the assessment tools and techniques that are now being used by teachers in this district.
