Revised Mathematics Standards Provide More Guidance

This article from EdWeek on the Web provides a review of the new Principles and Standards and summarizes what has changed and hasn't changed in the document since 1989. Author Ulrich Boser cites increased emphasis on computation, greater specificity, and added integration of standards for students, teachers, and assessments as some of the new features of Principles and Standards. Boser also discusses the impact of Principles and Standards on the classroom and presents some of the criticisms leveled against the new release.
