Abstract

Pascal D. Forgione, Jr., the U.S. Commissioner of Education Statistics at the National Center for Education Statistics, gave an detailed address to the 1998 Conference of the National Science Teachers' Association, entitled, "What We've Learned From TIMSS About Science Education in the United States" Forgione discusses such topics as response to criticisms about the end of secondary school assessments, the end of secondary school achievement results, and what TIMSS has shown us about achievement.
