The Math and Science Partnership Program Evaluation (MSP-PE): Year-6 Update

U.S. student performance in K-12 mathematics and science education continues to lag, posing a long-term challenge for building a vigorous, future workforce of scientists and engineers. In light of this challenge, the National Science Foundation (NSF), charged with nurturing and strengthening this workforce, supports a variety of programs in mathematics and science education.
In 2002, NSF started a major new such initiative--the Math and Science Partnership (MSP) Program. Two years later, NSF then funded an independent evaluation of the MSP Program--the Math and Science Partnership Program Evaluation (MSP-PE)--that has continued through 2010. The present report covers the main findings and conclusions from the evaluation. The report begins by briefly describing the MSP Program and the evaluation design that has been followed.
