NSTA Position Statement: Science for English Language Learners

Abstract

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) recently approved a new position statement, which includes recommendations for teacher preparation and professional development, educational policies, and a research agenda for English Language Learners (ELLs) and science education. The statement calls for high-quality science instruction, curriculum materials supporting science instruction, and teacher preparation and professional development on science content and pedagogy targeted to ELLs.
