First Year Report: Mathematics Teacher Transformation Institutes Research & Evaluation Data


This report presents baseline data collected during the first year of this five-year project, October 1, 2008 through September 30, 2009. The data offer information about Cohort 1--Bronx middle and high school teachers--general characteristics of the schools and students they serve, and some preliminary findings from measures being used to assess:
1) the relationship over time between teacher knowledge, pedagogical change, and student performance in mathematics;
2) factors that influence the development of teacher leaders over time;
3) factors that influence change in curriculum in diverse institutional contexts over time.
