This Climate Literacy guide was developed through a community-wide consensus-building process with various members of both the science and education communities working to define climate literacy in the U.S.
Supported by a NOAA Education Grant, a three-day workshop was held with the goal of creating a framework for climate and weather literacy, building on the research and the science and technology education benchmarks developed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Project 2061.
This climate literacy guide offers an overview matrix and essential principles and fundamental concepts chart designed to assist teachers in integrating climate literacy into their curriculum.
