WJMS success draws national attention

"The teaching efforts at West Middle School received some national exposure last week when Dr. Arden Bement, director of the National Science Foundation, paid a visit to the school.


Bement was in town to observe how West Jessamine was implementing a program sponsored by the foundation, aimed at improving math and science education.


Jessamine County is one of 38 central and eastern Kentucky school districts, partnered with The University of Kentucky, participating in the Appalachian Math-Science Partnership, which is funded by a $22 million grant from the foundation..."
