The Appalachian Mathematics and Science Partnership (AMSP) organized a 2-day Research Conference that was held on June 6-7, 2007 in Lexington, Kentucky. This conference provided a forum for researchers, graduate students, and front-line educators from the areas of mathematics and science education to share their current AMSP research efforts, discuss important issues in rural mathematics and science education, and consider future research directions. The conference consisted of three sections: Large-Scale Studies of AMSP Teachers and Students; Appalachian Teachers' Content Knowledge; and Exploring Partnership in Appalachia.
