The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) asks college and university students about their learning experiences in higher ed, such as accessibility to their instructors, the kinds of and frequency of written assignments, their use of the library and other learning resources. From these surveys, institutions, parents, and potential students can infer the quality of the learning opportunities students might experience in participating colleges. Indiana University has conducted this survey for several years, and hundreds of colleges and universities have participated. You can find information on the web site and you can purchase the study, "STUDENT SUCCESS IN COLLEGE: Creating Conditions that Matter."
