Teacher Goals and Self-Assessment Protocol


How do you engage teachers to critically reflect on the outcomes of their practice without provoking a defensive reaction? This Excel- based protocol begins by engaging teachers where they are and taking them though a quantifiable self-assessment process. It can be used as a set-up to a TIMSS video presentation, school data analysis sessions, and/or an examination of state and national standards. It addresses teachers' question of "why change" by leading them to discover the answer based on their own "standards" and student outcomes.
